COUNT DRACULA

Dracula
THE COUNT

Count Dracula is the leading character in Bram Stoker’s famous novel “Dracula”, published in 1897. He is the archetypal vampire in subsequent works of fiction. The character is thought to be inspired by Vlad the Impaler, also known as Vlad Dracula, who was the Prince of Wallachia (Romania) during the 15th century. According to the myths, Count Dracula was a centuries-old vampire, with sharp teeth, pointy ears and immense strength. He ruled in his castle known as “Castle Dracula” in Transylvania, where he lived with several other night creatures. He turned normal people into vampires, by biting them and infecting them with the vampiric curse. “Dracula” is one of the most famous gothic horror novels of all time and has been adapted for several movies and series throughout the years. Have a good night!...

DOLLY - THE SHEEP

Dolly
THE SHEEP (1996 - 2003)

Dolly was a female Finn-Dorset sheep from Scotland. As the first cloned mammal ever to be created from an adult cell, her birth was of huge excitement both to the scientific world and to the public. Dolly’s cloning proved that a cloned organism could be produced from a mature cell (from a specific body part) and her birth was considered a scientific marvel. She was named after the legendary country singer and philanthropist, Dolly Parton. Dolly the sheep, lived happily for 6 and a half years and gave birth to six lambs. Since 2003, Dolly’s preserved body is exhibited at the National Museum of Scotland, within a rotating plexiglass cubicle. Until today, Dolly remains the most celebrated sheep of all time. In her memory, Choco Myths created this special “Dolly” edition with lots of love & affection.

LAIKA - THE SPACE DOG

Laika
THE SPACE DOG (1954 - 1957)

Laika was a black & white homeless mongrel, wandering the streets of Moscow before she was selected by the Russian space program, to become the first animal to orbit the planet. Local scientists used street strays, under the assumption that such animals had already learned to endure conditions of extreme cold and hunger. The “experiment”, aimed to prove that a living organism could survive being launched into orbit, and continue to function under conditions of weakened gravity and increased radiation. On November 3rd 1957, Laika flew aboard the Sputnik 2 spacecraft. As the technology to de-orbit had not yet been developed, her survival was never expected. What Laika was subjected to was cruel and wrong. In her memory, Choco Myths created this special “Laika” edition with lots of love & affection.

Irish Fairy
AOS SI (PEOPLE OF THE FAIRY MOUNDS)

According to the Irish mythology and folklore, Fairies weren’t human or ghosts, but natural beings with supernatural powers. Their origin derives from the ancient Celt belief in the “Tuatha Dé Danann”, a supernatural race of divine beings, who have powers of magic, such as the ability to fly without wings. It was believed that Fairies live underground, or in a parallel invisible world. There are numerous fairies associated with Ireland, such as the Banshee and the Pooka, but the most famous is one is the Leprechaun. It is said that Fairies can be generous and bring good luck to those, who encounter them. If someone claims to have seen or spoken to an Irish fairy, though, their tale is usually not believed. One thing is certain, these magical creatures are synonymous with Ireland, and they will continue to fascinate us forever!

LEPRECHAUN - IRISH FAIRY

Leprechaun
IRISH FAIRY

According to the legends, Leprechauns (A leprechaun means “a very small body”) are little creatures known for their trickster nature, yet harmless to people. They’re among Celtic mythology’s most famous creatures deeply rooted in the Irish culture. Leprechauns live in remote places creating shoes and brogues, are very clever, and have a great desire for gold which they hide at the end of the rainbow. They are often depicted as little bearded men, with green clothing and big hats, and their association with the colour made them a very popular costume during St. Patrick’s Day. It’s also said that they have magical powers, and if you’re fortunate to catch one, they can grant you a wish. Although leprechauns belong to folktales and mythology, some people still believe that these lovely creatures live in Ireland’s vast green landscapes. Have you seen any?

SANTA CLAUSS

Santa Claus
HO-HO-HO

Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, or simply Santa, is a legendary figure of the Christmas period. Of course, the legend of Santa Claus is traced back to a monk named St. Nicholas. Born in 280 A.D. in Turkey, he was admired for his kindness, as he gave away all his wealth to help the poor, and he became known as the protector of children and sailors. The modern figure of Santa is based on folklore traditions, often depicted as a cheerful, white-bearded man, wearing a red coat and a red hat with white fur. He has a workshop in North Pole, where, with the aid of elves, he manufactures toys and gifts for “good” children. Every Christmas Eve, he delivers the gifts with his sleigh, laughing loudly through the skies… "Ho Ho Ho"
